Looking for Volunteers!The Aurora Historical Society could not run without our volunteers. They are an intregal part to preserving our history, and we invite you to come and help us out! Currently there are many volunteer opportunites at the Aurora Historical Society, and we are always looking for new voluteers! Listed below are our current projects, if you are interested in helping, give us a call at 630.897.9029.- Kane County Court Records Indexing. Currently meets Tuesday mornings, 9am to noon. - Archive Indexing. Ever been curious what our archives hold? We are working through our extensive archives, inventorying and indexing what's inside. If you are interested in helping, call Jennifer at 630.897.9029. - Tanner House Docents. Do you like museums? Showing others history? Well, giving house tours may be perfect for you! Starting May 21st, the Tanner house is open Mondays and Saturdays 12-4, and we need volunteers both days. Also there is the opportunity to help out with speciall tours a well! - Downtown Alive! Volunteers. Fridays nights are always a party at our downtown site, thanks to Downtown Alive! We are currently seeking volunteers to count heads, greet people, and watch our exhibits. Internship Opportunities are available!Internships are always available. We are actively seeking museum education interns, but also opportunites in collections and archives.
